As we become more aware of the unhappiness, behavioral issues, and learning problems that children are struggling with today, we know that these issues are increasingly taking a toll on both kids and their families.

Millions of children have been clinically diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and learning disabilities. They may be struggling with academics, underachievement, attention, focus, behavioral issues, or find it hard to build successful relationships and socially “fit in.” You may have watched your child fall behind their peers despite their best efforts. Unfortunately, this pattern is all too common and can contribute to a downward trajectory as they progress through school. Statistically, behavior problems are highest in elementary school, and if not resolved somewhere along the line through grade school and high school, success in college or the workforce may prove challenging.

When your child’s brain is activated across all areas – the Three Dimensions of Movement and Learning – their ability to focus will improve, along with self-esteem, interpersonal skills, and academic success.

The Body–Brain–Movement Connection

The cerebellum, located at the back of the brain, is responsible for motor control as well as a many learning processes: memory, thinking, communication, attention, and spatial perception. Basically, your child’s thinking and movement reside together in the same area of their brain – movement and cognition are not separate from one another! As a result, proper growth of a child’s mind and behavior rests on the coordinated interplay of movement and learning. If there is a disruption in development of one of these, it can lead to delays and various academic, emotional, and behavioral challenges.

Whole Brain Integration and integrative movement can reintegrate your child’s developmental processes to strengthen mind-body connections and improve their brain function. These movements are a type of physical exercise, or movement patterns, designed to encourage proper neurological development in a child. They are not complicated, but they can bring about substantial changes in your child’s behavioral and academic progress. There are dramatic improvements in concentration, memory, learning and academics, coordination, relationships, organizational skills, responsibility, and creativity as I guide children through the integrative movement sequences.
